📚 What is Hawl?

Hawl (اŲ„ØŲˆŲ„) is the Islamic lunar year of approximately 354 days (not 365 solar days). For Zakat to become obligatory, your wealth must:

  1. Exceed the Nisab threshold
  2. Remain above Nisab for one complete Hawl (354 days)
  3. Still be above Nisab when the Hawl period ends

Once your Hawl is complete and wealth remains above Nisab, Zakat becomes due at 2.5% of your total zakatable assets.
